My heart is also captivated by Mary Oliver poetry, my doggo Charlie boy, and the deserts of Moab. I also love getting lost in the mountains and am stubborn about how I like my black coffee.
I call Denver, Colorado home when I'm not traveling the world as an elopement photographer. Rather than going out on a Saturday night, you'll find me cuddled on the couch with my dog Charlie watching the newest True Crime documentary. (I'm not proud of it, but I can't stop...OKAY.)

WHEN I AM AMONG THE TREES

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
The world is moving quickly, and as humans, we might miss our lives if we don't stop and stay awhile.
Mary Oliver's poetry reminds us of our need for nature and the joy of sitting and breathing in beautiful places. I always inform those around me that I'm a human first and a photographer second.
I would be doing a disservice to you as a fellow human and friend if I didn't encourage you to get outside and experience this season of life.
How can we each be more present with the ones we love? How can we protect the earth so our children's children can experience our favorite places? How can we step away from distractions, find beauty in our daily lives, and give grace back to those we encounter?
I don't have all the answers to these questions, but I search for them daily.

Fun Fact About My Elopement Day
In 2021, I had an adventure wedding with my love. We eloped just the two of us.
By avoiding traditional things we didn’t care about and the opinions of others, we were able to have a stress-free, relaxing, and memorable elopement experience inspired by the nature around us.
I desire to offer the same, care-free wedding day experience for each of my couples.
With well over 100 million visitors on more than 10 billion outings in the U.S. each year, our love for the outdoors can take a toll. Impacted areas suffer from litter, invasive species, habituated wildlife, trail erosion, polluted water sources and more. While most of us don’t intend to harm our natural surroundings, we may lack the knowledge to preserve it, or we’re simply overlooking a few important behaviors. Simply put, Leave No Trace highlights best practices we should follow to enjoy and protect our natural spaces.

We chose Brooke to capture our Colorado elopement and she did exactly that and more. She made it easy to plan our day out with locations and timelines so that we could focus on ourselves. We decided last minute to change our afternoon/evening elopement to a 6am sunrise one so beat the heat of the day. Brooke accommodated us without hesitation and even created a new timeline for us so that we knew where to be for the perfect sunrise. Brooke not only photographed our mountain elopement beautifully, but she put so much thought into the details and knew all of the answers the questions I didn’t even know to ask.
