Wedding venues in Crested Butte are perfect for a ceremony surrounded by wildflowers, mountain peaks, and alpine lakes. This charming Colorado mountain town is known for its natural beauty and laid-back vibe — ideal for couples planning an outdoor wedding.
As a Colorado-based wedding photographer who absolutely loves Crested Butte, I’ve explored the area’s most scenic ceremony spots. Whether you’re eloping just the two of you or planning an intimate wedding with family and friends, there’s something for every couple here, from budget-friendly to full-service venues with on-site accommodations.
Below, I’m sharing the best wedding venues in Crested Butte. I’ll also include the cost, availability, and max guest count to help you find the perfect location.
Best for: A secluded location with on-site accommodations
Availability: Year-round
Cost: $8,500
Max guest count: 200
Cement Creek Ranch offers a rustic, tucked-away setting just south of Crested Butte. Surrounded by pine trees, wildflowers, and the sounds of the creek, this location is ideal for those seeking privacy and natural beauty. You can host your ceremony near the water or in one of the open meadows with the mountains as your backdrop.
There are also on-site accommodations in the ranch house and guest cabins, which makes it easy to turn your wedding into a weekend getaway with loved ones. Cement Creek Ranch is perfect for both small weddings and elopements, with ample space to relax and connect.
Best for: A traditional wedding venue with table and chair rentals included
Availability: June through September
Cost: $700 – $2,500, depending on the space and day
Max guest count: 125
Mountain Wedding Garden is one of the more traditional Crested Butte wedding venues nestled in the Elk Mountains. Surrounded by wildflowers and sweeping views, it provides a beautiful and convenient space for couples who want an outdoor ceremony with built-in amenities.
The ceremony takes place in a vibrant flower garden, while the reception can be held in the adjacent pavilion with large barn doors that open to the views. You can rent the garden, the pavilion, or both. Note that the garden is a short walk from parking and may be less accessible for guests with limited mobility.
Best for: Convenient location with stunning mountain scenery
Availability: Summer and fall
Cost: $700
Max guest count: 200
Town Ranch is easily one of my favorite places for a mountain wedding in Colorado. It’s a wide-open space with gorgeous 360-degree views of the mountains. It’s also one of the best locations for a dog-friendly wedding.
The venue is part of the Crested Butte Land Trust, so it maintains a preserved and peaceful vibe while still being conveniently located close to town. There’s quick access to nearby accommodations and activities for continuing the celebration after the wedding. This couple whose wedding I recently photographed headed to The Breadery for their reception!
Best for: Aspen trees and rustic charm
Availability: Year-round
Cost: $2,000 ($500 is refundable if the space is left in its natural condition)
Max guest count: 100, but ideally less for preservation
Woods Walk is one of the most scenic, small wedding venues in Crested Butte, nestled in an aspen grove on Crested Butte Land Trust property. Even though it’s just a short walk from town, its wide-open meadow and mountain views make it feel peaceful and private. The tall aspens offer a storybook atmosphere, especially in the fall when the leaves turn golden.
I also love Woods Walk because it’s easy to personalize for your ceremony. There’s plenty of space to set up decor and seating like benches, rugs, and floral arrangements.
While you can’t have your reception on-site, the venue’s convenient location makes it easy to walk into town afterward for dinner and drinks.
Best for: Accessible lakeside ceremony
Availability: Year-round
Cost: $2,000 ($500 is refundable if the space is left in its natural condition)
Max guest count: 100
Peanut Lake is also a part of the Crested Butte Land Trust, and it’s the perfect spot to exchange your vows lakeside. It’s easily accessible but close to the road and a popular hiking trail, so it’s less private than other locations. That said, it’s surrounded by natural beauty for a simple yet gorgeous ceremony.
Like Woods Walk, you would want to walk to Downtown Crested Butte or head to another nearby location for your reception.
There are also many amazing hidden alpine lakes, like this one below, for a Crested Butte wedding off the beaten path.
Best for: A mountain wedding with full-service convenience
Availability: June through September
Cost: $5,000+ for venue and $10,000 food and drink minimum
Max guest count: 180
If you want incredible views without sacrificing comfort or convenience, Ten Peaks is hard to beat. Located at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, it offers 360° alpine scenery and a more structured wedding experience than many other outdoor venues in the area.
The site includes a built-in ceremony platform with tiered seating, a large tented reception area, and plenty of space for dining and dancing. Ten Peaks also offers in-house catering and bar service, so you don’t have to coordinate as many outside vendors. With lodging available on-site at the resort, it’s an ideal choice for a convenient, full-service wedding in the mountains.
Best for: Private buyout boutique hotel
Availability: Summer and fall
Cost: Varies, depending on season and number of nights
Max guest count: 14 to 18, depending on the season
Scarp Ridge Lodge is one of the best intimate wedding venues in Crested Butte, especially if you’re looking for a personal and elevated experience with your closest loved ones. This boutique hotel, once a saloon, has been transformed into a stylish lodge featuring a rooftop hot tub, saltwater pool, and private bar.
You can have your ceremony at a nearby outdoor location for a private vow exchange or with your guests, then return to the lodge for a cocktail hour and sit-down dinner. With a full buyout, you get the entire space to yourselves, making it easy to turn your wedding into a full weekend celebration. There are also many fun activities nearby, including hiking, biking, and off-roading.
Best for: A wedding off the beaten path
Availability: Fall
Cost: $7,500 during the week and $9,650 on the weekend
Max guest count: 128
The Rocky Mountain Biological Lab is a hidden gem and easily one of the most unique outdoor wedding venues in Colorado. It sits at an elevation of nearly 1,000 feet and is surrounded by wildflowers and mountain scenery for an incredible backdrop.
When you book the venue, you also get access to the main hall, large outdoor tent, boardroom, and catering kitchen. The entire space, both indoors and outdoors, is absolutely stunning.

“Brooke was the perfect choice for our wedding day! We had a micro wedding at Sapphire Point in August. I had never been to Sapphire Point and Brooke was so helpful suggesting vendors, picture locations, parking, marriage license info etc. She was so kind and helpful before and during the whole process and was a large part of why the day went so smooth. She does so much more than just show up and take pictures, Brooke will truly go out of her way to make your wedding day perfect! The photos are gorgeous and I keep getting so many compliments! I truly cannot recommend her enough!”

We chose Brooke to capture our Colorado elopement and she did exactly that and more. She made it easy to plan our day out with locations and timelines so that we could focus on ourselves. We decided last minute to change our afternoon/evening elopement to a 6am sunrise one so beat the heat of the day. Brooke accommodated us without hesitation and even created a new timeline for us so that we knew where to be for the perfect sunrise. She was kind and understood what we wanted in terms of our elopement and we are so grateful to have her capture the day. Our photos turned out beautiful and truly helped us relive the day. I would recommend Brooke to anyone wanting their special day photographed.

Brooke not only photographed our mountain elopement beautifully, but she put so much thought into the details and knew all of the answers the questions I didn’t even know to ask. She really puts a lot of thought into each photo and brings her expertise while still remaining very open to what we wanted and ideas we had. She even helped pick the perfect spot for us and advised us on the logistical details like securing a reservation at the mountain lake where we wanted our ceremony. She is SO easy to work with and very friendly and chill. My husband and I are super awkward in front of a camera but she made it so natural and easy - and the shots came out better than we could have imagined.

Brooke is many things; talented, calm, flexible, experienced/ knowledgeable, patient, incredibly responsive, organized, resourceful in a pinch, supportive, creative, professional yet a blast to work with, and goes above & beyond w her clients. Our wedding was a spectacular dream and we couldn't be more grateful that she made that single day last forever. Whether she's photographing nature or an intimate event, her pictures tell a story of peace, love, whatever your vision may be. We couldn't recommend her more and we look forward to booking with her for all of our vow renewals, seasonal and family pictures for as long as she'll have us.

Working with Brooke was a dream come true! Before we even met, my husband Brent and I were impressed by her portfolio. After meeting, we were even more convinced that her photography skills and knowledge, and her fun and easygoing personality were exactly what we were looking for in an elopement photographer. Brooke was able to take our vision and facilitate everything so that it worked out beautifully, especially when it came to finding the perfect location (the incredible mountains surrounding Ouray). Throughout the entire planning process, she was honest and flexible, and made it clear that her goal was for us to be 100% happy. In the end, her creativity and our happiness totally shine through in every single photo.
"Throughout the entire planning process, she was honest and flexible."

I can't begin to express my gratitude for the intimacy and beauty behind Brooke's photographs. In capturing our wedding day, she went above and beyond to document our story, our families, and the depths of our love in ways that I'll forever be grateful for. Brooke has an eye for not only capturing the adventure and magic of your love, but deeply connects with your personal story, understands your relationship, and then gives that back in the most incredible way. She is truly an artist and tells your story in an authentic and creative way for you to look back on for years to come. We are forever grateful to Brooke for spending the time to get to know us, our story, and capturing the memories that we'll relive for years to come.

“If you're contemplating which photographer to go with, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO CHOOSE BROOKE!!!! She is so so so talented and was able to capture our elopement exactly how I pictured and wanted! We eloped in Ridgway, CO this past September and she was so helpful figuring out picture locations, recommendations of timeline for the day, and just made the whole day feel so smooth. She schedules multiple check ins, phone calls, etc., leading up to the big day to ensure everything is as you want it. Brooke has such a calming, down to earth presence and is one of those awesome people you feel like you've known forever after just the first time of meeting."

Brooke is the absolute best. She truly went above and beyond for my fiancé and I to be able to get our engagement photos taken with the fall colors.
